Catching up
Hey guys,
Its been a while since the last post and i decided it was time to let everyone know what is going on in Pommy land. Well we have been overseas now for over 6 months and after Steve's and my Aussie getaways we have all settled back into work now and are busy planning our travels ahead.
Firstly we have decided to go to Stockholm, Sweden during the end of March for a 4 day long weekend. There should still be snow there that time of the year and it should be good to check out all the Swedes.
Secondly all three of us are joining the battlers who are coming to visit us, on a European bus trip through France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Germany, Netherlands & Belgium at the end of May for 14 days.
We are all looking forward to doing a bit more travelling and can't wait for our family and friends to come over and join us and see what a beautiful place Europe is.
Bye for now and I hope to catch up soon.
Tim

NYE at Fabric Nightclub
Hi all,
Shoey here, well I thought I should finally get involved in this blog thingy, and keep Timmy happy - just joking mate! Since there is nobody else here at the house (I've actually witnessed tumbleweeds roll across the loungeroom floor!), and I'm sick, I am bored off my head so that's probably the main reason why I'm doing this - once again, just joking, I have been meaning to do one for a while now!
It had taken us quite a while to decide on where we were going to go for NYE, if we were going to go to a big doof doof night club, one of our normal weekend places where we be silly, or if we were going to go and watch fireworks somewhere! Ha - fireworks, getting a bit old for that, it's party time!! So we decided on this place called Fabric Nightclub, it's a massive nighclub set across 2 or 3 floors (I actually can't quite remember, I think it was 3), and it had about half a dozen rooms where top DJ's (apparently) we're playing and mixing it up (as they say!)
NY eve started off with a "pstssssst" of a Beck's Beer bottle lid coming off at about 10am - soon followed by Steve's Magner's and Timmy's Stella Artois! 10am - that's the time to start sinking beer on both NY eve and Christmas Day - great invention that stuff! Anyways, we calmly sunk our beverages all day, and talked random sh*t (had to bleep it out - not sure if this contraption will let me swear on it - oh well - Timmy: HELP!) But we new that we would have to get quite tanked to go to this club as we were under the impression that dirnks were goign to be quite expensive, in the range of £5 or more - but surprisingly, they were between £3 and £4 which was quite respectable! Even if our tickets to get in were £35! The price you pay for some of these places - geeez!
Once in, we were like: "woah - this place is huge!" If it is one thing that London and the UK has on Aus and the Gold Coast, it does have to be the clubs - some of them are massive, and just the way the layouts are - awesome! There was hardly nobody there, so we scoped the joint out, hard a little walk around and found a pretty neat spot to rest our tired bums - and, we got ourselves a beer! After a few rounds, it didn't take long for these little scrag rags to come and sit down next to us and whisper this in our ears: "Hey mate, you alright? Want some pills, I got E, coke, speed, whatever, you want anything?!" It was quite surprising actually of how many people around us were either snorting or popping something in order to try and make their evening a better one - personally, its so lame - needing to take something like that to have a good time! But anyways, we had our drug - ALCOHOL - good stuff that, did I say that that was a good invention?! ;P
Well, after seeing the new year in on the dance floor - things began to get a little bit more messy! Messy as: I can't remember what happened to the boys, but I know we all had a good night, and we all made our way home by ourselves at seperate times, drunk! So leaving it on that note - adios amigo's
Shoey
P.S. If there was anything omitted from our night out, I'm sure either SK or Timmy will include in a future blog!

Tour de Pareè
Well guys we've seen Paris. What a beautiful place. Apart from one or two rude french people our stay was quite magnificent. We managed to see the Eiffel Tower, L'arc de Triumph, Champs de Elysses and the Louvre. What spectacular pieces or architechture.
On the first day we went straight to the L'arc de Triumph where we saw the most chaotic round about in the world and it didn' disappoint. It was absolute chaos. There are no lane markings on the round about and its goes about 8 cars deep so you can imagine how bad that is. From there we walked down the Champs de Elysses which is a 2km exactly strip of nothing but the most exclusive shops in the world (bar the 6 McDonald's that reside there). This led straight into the Louvre where we spend about 4-5 hours getting lost in the maze of rooms holding artwork. Among the works we saw were the Mona Lisa (real one) and the Venus de Milo (Statue of Aphrodite). This pretty much concluded day one except for the couple of hours we spent sinking alcohol at one of the lounge bars Paris has to offer.
On the second day we got off to an early start despite our lack of sleep. We met up at St Michel were we partook in the free Walking tour that is operated in many of Europes major cities. This tour took us all the way across paris learning about the history of the beautiful city. Most of the tour centred around what Napolean did and didn't do for Paris. After the walking tour we made our way to the Eiffel Tower which was nightime by this stage. We saw the spectacular light show go off on the Eiffel Tower at night. What happened was about 6 or so years ago they fitted the Eiffel Tower with a couple of tens of thousands of camera flash bulbs. What happens every night from 6pm to midnight every hour for about 5 mins is that the bulbs go off in a magnificent sequence that makes the Eiffel Tower light up in the most spectacular way. After this we proceeded to make our way to some of Paris' fine bars where we drank a lot of alcohol and met a lot of the locals. Conversely we managed to end up at some local Paris pub where all the Parisian students go to talk about politics and drink spicy San Grier. We decided to stay for a spicy San Grier (although this would come back to haunt us all later) and then headed home.
On the last day we woke up early (much to my disgust) and headed straight for the Eiffel Tower where this time we went up to the top and took in all Paris had to offer from 330m above ground. It was quite spectacular. After this we headed back to our Hostel and got our stuff together and headed back to Paris Nord (The International Train Station) where we caught the Eurostar home and concluded our quite eventful boys weekend away to Paris.
Be sure to check back again soon when we should have some info about our New Years eve spend at Fabrik Nightclub (Comparible to the Ministry of Sound).
Au Revoir,
Tim, Steve and Shoey.
